The API Migration Traffic Simulator

Create a migration planning tool that helps engineering teams rehearse the transition from one API version or backend implementation to another.

Allow users to import sanitized request samples, endpoint specifications, traffic distributions, latency measurements, error rates, and known consumer dependencies. Generate a representative synthetic workload that preserves important request patterns without exposing real credentials or personal data.

Compare the old and new implementations across response compatibility, latency, throughput, error behavior, and resource consumption where test results are available.

Simulate phased migration strategies, including a small canary rollout, gradual traffic shifting, parallel validation, and rollback. Show the conditions under which the migration should pause or reverse.

Generate compatibility tests and a deployment checklist. Clearly distinguish synthetic simulation results from actual benchmark measurements, and never direct replay traffic toward production by default.

Include redaction rules, configurable request limits, and a migration evidence report for engineering review.
