The Meeting Schedule Collision Optimizer

Build a scheduling optimization tool that helps teams reduce calendar conflicts and unnecessary meeting disruption across multiple time zones.

Users can import or manually enter meeting requests, participant availability, required attendees, optional attendees, meeting duration, urgency, deadlines, and scheduling preferences.

The system must:

  • Detect overlapping meetings and insufficient travel or transition buffers.

  • Distinguish mandatory participants from optional attendees.

  • Account for working hours, holidays, time zones, and user-defined focus blocks.

  • Rank candidate time slots based on attendance, urgency, fairness, and disruption.

  • Identify recurring meetings that repeatedly conflict with important work periods.

  • Compare scheduling alternatives and explain why one option ranks higher.

  • Generate a proposed schedule that users can review before exporting.

Include a weekly timeline, conflict graph, preference editor, and CSV or calendar-file export where supported.

Do not silently move existing meetings or send invitations. Treat calendar data as private, show all time zones explicitly, and make scheduling priorities configurable. If no feasible slot exists, explain which constraints conflict rather than inventing an available time.
