The Digital Product Unboxing Lab

Build an interactive laboratory for testing how a new user experiences a digital product during their first five minutes.

Let product teams define an audience, a product's core promise, an initial user goal, and the key steps required to reach the first meaningful result. Generate a clickable prototype containing onboarding screens, realistic decisions, empty states, validation errors, permission requests, and recovery paths.

Include a test mode where participants attempt tasks while the application records navigation paths, completion rates, repeated actions, hesitation points when explicitly instrumented, and abandonment locations. Never fabricate user testing results or treat simulated participants as real customers.

Provide alternative onboarding flows that vary the number of steps, amount of explanation, progressive disclosure, and initial setup requirements. Compare their predicted friction using transparent heuristics, then let teams record real test outcomes to validate those predictions.

Export the prototype specification, test scenarios, usability findings, and prioritized improvement backlog.
