The Natural Language Database Playground

Create an interactive workspace where users can explore a database by describing questions in everyday language, then inspect and refine the SQL generated to answer them.

Support imported schemas, table relationships, sample datasets, and synthetic databases. Before generating a query, identify ambiguous terms, missing relationships, and assumptions about how business concepts map to columns.

Show the generated SQL alongside a plain-language explanation, query plan when supported, expected result structure, and relevant joins or aggregations. Allow users to edit the query and compare the results.

Include guided challenges for joins, window functions, grouping, subqueries, date calculations, and performance optimization. Explain why alternative queries may produce different answers.

Default to read-only execution, enforce query time and resource limits where possible, and never run destructive statements without explicit safeguards. When no database connection exists, use a clearly labeled local sample dataset. Export queries, explanations, and reusable examples.
