The Product Recall Readiness Simulator

Build an interactive product recall simulator for manufacturers, distributors, food businesses, and retailers.

The user should create a product batch, connect it to suppliers, production runs, shipment records, warehouses, retailers, and customer orders, then simulate a quality or safety issue.

Core capabilities:

  1. Batch Genealogy: Trace affected products backward to their components and forward to every known destination.

  2. Recall Scope: Compare recalling one batch, a production window, a supplier's components, or all potentially affected products.

  3. Inventory Exposure: Calculate quantities produced, shipped, remaining in storage, returned, and not yet accounted for.

  4. Recall Cost Model: Estimate logistics, replacement, disposal, customer communication, and operational interruption costs using editable assumptions.

  5. Response Timeline: Simulate detection, investigation, containment, notification, and closure.

  6. Traceability Gaps: Flag missing lot numbers, incomplete shipment links, and records that prevent confident scope determination.

  7. Scenario Comparison: Compare the estimated impact of different containment strategies.

Include a sample dataset, a visual supply-chain graph, searchable affected-product lists, and CSV exports.

Clearly distinguish confirmed affected inventory from potentially affected inventory and unknown quantities. Do not invent regulatory deadlines or certify legal compliance. Provide configurable jurisdiction-specific rules only when supplied by the user.
