Act as a principal API test engineer. Build The API Integration Contract Test Forge, a working application that converts API documentation, example payloads, and expected behavior into executable integration test scenarios.
Let developers provide endpoint definitions, HTTP methods, headers, authentication requirements, request examples, response examples, and expected error conditions.
The tool should:
Extract request and response structures.
Generate positive, negative, boundary, and malformed-input tests.
Detect mismatches between documented and observed response shapes.
Test required fields, data types, nullability, enums, and status codes.
Identify undocumented behavior and ambiguous contract rules.
Generate tests in formats such as Jest, Vitest, and Python pytest.
Display generated cases in an editable test matrix.
Allow users to provide actual responses for comparison.
Export test files and a human-readable coverage report.
Include sample REST APIs and mock responses so the application works without external credentials. Never execute potentially destructive requests automatically. Keep secrets out of generated logs, and clearly distinguish simulated tests from tests run against a real service.
