The Frontend Race Condition Reproduction Lab

Act as a senior frontend infrastructure engineer. Build The Frontend Race Condition Reproduction Lab, an interactive environment for understanding and reproducing asynchronous UI bugs.

Create a simulated application where users can configure search requests, autocomplete, pagination, form submissions, background refreshes, and rapidly changing filters.

The lab should:

  • Allow users to control artificial network latency and response order.

  • Reproduce stale responses overwriting newer UI state.

  • Demonstrate duplicate submissions and out-of-order updates.

  • Compare unsafe implementations with fixes using cancellation, request identifiers, debouncing, or state guards.

  • Visualize the sequence of events on a timeline.

  • Track requests started, completed, cancelled, ignored, and rendered.

  • Generate deterministic reproduction steps from a failing scenario.

  • Produce regression tests for the selected fix.

  • Include resettable experiments and explanatory annotations.

Use simulated network requests so experiments run without a backend. Make the behavior genuinely interactive: users should be able to trigger the race condition, observe the bug, apply a fix, and rerun the same scenario to verify the result.
