Build The Excel Workbook Formula Coverage Auditor, a tool that identifies important spreadsheet formulas and calculation paths that have not been adequately tested.
Allow users to upload an Excel workbook and select critical output cells, input ranges, and business rules.
The application should:
Identify formula cells, constants, blank cells, and references within supported worksheets.
Trace dependencies from input cells to critical outputs.
Highlight formula regions that use inconsistent patterns.
Generate boundary-value test scenarios for selected inputs.
Compare expected output values with recalculated or user-supplied results.
Identify formulas that have not been covered by any defined test.
Detect broken references and selected classes of formula errors.
Produce a workbook coverage map and prioritized review list.
Export test cases and audit results.
Include sample workbooks for budgeting, sales forecasting, and inventory planning. Preserve the original workbook, clearly indicate unsupported formula features, and distinguish formula inspection from actual spreadsheet-engine recalculation. Do not claim full coverage simply because every formula cell has been identified.
